Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire over a-england Perceval

I have for you today the last Lynn from the package Llarowe sent me months ago.  I had held off showing you this one as I had a bit of trouble with the application of this one first time I tried to use it, but decided to try again yesterday and rolled the polish for a minute or so before applying and had no issues.

So here is the description of VPV, "Multiple sizes of burgundy hexagons and squares in a dark blood-red base with scattered black and red multi-sized accents. Suitable for any blood type."  

I took this description from Steffels blog as Lynn no longer has public access to her blog, and she describes them much better than I could.  If you are not already aware of Stefs blog you need to pay her a visit anyway, she has great swatches, and a lot of them are of Lynnderellas... and everytime I see one on her, it makes me want it even more!

Anyway, here is my mani using VPV, this is one coat of the Knight, 1 of Perceval (shown alone here) 2 coats of VPV and 2 coats of the Shield as 1 wasn't quite enough to make it smooth.

Lynnderella Change and a-england Perceval

Happy Christmas everyone!! I hope Santa was good to you all....

I have a few things to say before I start this post, and the first is, please don't be too sad when you see my *super* short nails, I had a little break two days before Christmas, and I don't even know how it happened, my peter pointer on my left hand decided to crack in a diagonal from the tip to near enough the nail bed, so there was no saving it, and I like my nails to be all the same length so they all got filed down but, and my previous mani was ruined...... but *bright side* this mani was my way of cheering myself up.

Following from that, I have for you something very special......... my first Lynnderella!!!  These polishes had been on my radar for a while but I tried not to look at them too much as Lynn sold them on her blog, they were gone in lightning speed, and also she did not ship internationally, so I kept them in the sidelines as not to make myself too sad that I couldn't get them.

Then the ever wonderful, multi tasking Llarowe decided she didn't have quite enough to do (joke Leah Ann :p), and made the decision to start selling Lynnderellas in December.  The first, and second I believe, shipments of these were gone in a microsecond, but she should be getting more in January, so keep an eye on her Facebook for the announcement of this......

As you may or may not know, Leah Ann held a swatching contest recently, where 11 ladies would be selected to carry a 'job' out, which would be swatching and reviewing all the existing and new lines Llarowe carried, or will carry,........... sounds unreal, I know, which is why I could not believe when I was chosen as one of the finalists, never mind one of the 11 official swatchers as there were many many entries.

I was chosen for a-england, Ozotic and Lynderella polishes, and I have said it before but I will say it again, thank you, thank you, thank you to Leah Ann for this opportunity, she has no idea just how much it means to me to be chosen, and I am sure the others feel the same.

Anyway, I blame the festive season for all my gushing, so before I go off again, back to the polish.......

I was still looking for something to tie in with my Mums Christmas theme of red and gold, so when I looked at the Lynderella polishes Leah Ann had sent me, Change seemed a great choice.

Change is from the Funny Money Collection and is described below -

Change. is about more than the coins under the sofa cushions. Change is gold, silver, pewter, copper, bronze glitter with flecks of holographic gold with multi-coloured accents in a very sparkly gold base.

For my red, I decided to stick with Perceval, so here is 1 coat of the Knight, 1 of Perceval, 1 of Change and 1 thickish coat of the Shield (which I am pleased to report made this polish smooth and shiny)

I would suggest clicking on these pictures to enlarge them so you get the full glory of all the different colours, sizes and shapes of glitter in Change.

I will bring Change out again to show you alone at some point too, as it looks amazing after a few layers but how do you like it over Perceval, it certainly fit the theme I was going for.......

a-england Holy Grail, Perceval and Merlin

Wow whee! I cannot believe it is Christmas Eve already, hope everyone is feeling festive by now......

Before I start I would like to say a big Happy Birthday to my lovely friend Fi, you have seen the Illamasqua polishes she has 'let' me borrow on here before and I think she is actually my only friend who I see in 'real life' who reads my blog so I hope she has an amazing birthday and gets spoiled <3

Anyway, back to why you are all here, nail polish!!

I have for you today my first attempt at nails to match my Mums red and gold Christmas theme.  Of course a-englands were the first ones I thought of for red (Perceval) and gold (Hold Grail) but I decided Christmas also needed glitter so Merlin was picked too.  I wanted to try some kind of combo with them that I hadn't tried before, I was originally going to try a half moon mani, but decided on Ruffian at the last minute as thought it might be easier for me to freehand.

My idea for this didn't work just as I had hoped but I loved the colour combo so thought you guys would want to see, and if I try it again I will try to remember to take photos at each stage to show you.

I started with 1 coat of the Knight, then 1 coat of Holy Grail all over the whole nail, after this had dried I done 1 coat of Perceval but started up a bit further than the cuticle, but still (tried) to follow the same shape, then the same with 1 coat of Merlin and then a coat of the Shield to finish it all off.

And here was the end result.....

So the lines aren't as neat as I would have liked but I do like how the colours go together........what are your thoughts on this?  Yay or nay??

Hits Afrodite

Today I have for you all another linear holographic from the lovely Llarowe, this one is from the Hits No Olimpo collection and is called Afrodite.

Afrodite is a pink holographic polish, it looks a kind of salmony pink to me, you know me and my turbulent relationship with pinks but I actually loved this one once I had it on.

Application was great and coverage was opaque in 2 coats (first coat was quite thin but built up perfectly on the second), it was also super shiny without a top coat so I decided not to use one for the pictures to show you this, though I might add that I have also used top coat over this polish and it does not dull the holo effect.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and no top coat.

Now I decided that due to the thin-ness of the first coat, this polish would be great for layering, so I chose a-england Perceval for the first base to try.

This is 1 coat of the Knight, 1 of Perceval, 1 of Afrodite and 1 coat of the Shield.

I absolutely love how Afrodite looked over Perceval, and I honestly think I need all of these Hits (6ml) polishes, head over to the Llarowe website where you are get these and other awesome polishes.

a-england Perceval

There was only actually this other Mani in that folder I found, the rest had been used already, so figured would just post it just now and then go with new, shorter nailed pictures from here.

This post is a-england Perceval, this is a beautiful red polish and, like Avalon, it feels like it glows when you are wearing it.  It is a true shimmery rich red colour and as far as red shimmers go, this is my favourite.

As usual 1 coat Underground, 2 coats Perceval and 1 coat The Shield.

Perceval can be bought from a-englands website (a-england perceval) and is also their 'Gem of the Month' for August :) x
