This collection consists of 2 polishes - Polka Dot Black which has a clear base with large black hexagonal glitter and smaller black hexagonal glitter and Polka Dot White which also has a clear base and large white hexagons and smaller almost holographic hexagons. Application was fairly easy, although some of the larger dots did require slight repositioning with the brush to spread over the nail fully.
I decided to try these firstly over black and white polishes to get a monochrome effect.
So first here is Polka Dot Black. This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Nails Inc Floral Street, 1 coat of the Polka Dots and 1 coat of the Shield.
Next we have Polka Dot White. This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of a-england Camelot, 1 of the Polka Dots and 1 coat of the Shield.
Then I went a little bit layer happy and decided to try something else out. I wanted to try both dots over a grey, I needed a mid toned grey so both sets of dots would show up, so I chose Nails Inc London Sky.
So here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 coats of London Sky, 1 coat of the Black Dots, 1 coat of the White Dots and 1 coat of the Shield. Whew, thats a whole lot of layers!
I love these Polka Dot polishes!! I cannot wait to try them over all sorts of different colours to see what they look like.
What do you think of this collection? Will you be picking any up?
Thanks for looking as always <3
The Nubar polishes in this post were sent to me for review, all other polishes were purchased by me.
waw they all look great, I think the one with the white base has something special
ReplyDeleteThese are very fun glitters! Love the combo on grey nails! I'm curious how they would look on blue.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shannara, glad you like it. xx
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you too Mihaela, I will no doubt be showing these again over other colours, so many different combos to try <3 xx
I want these! I havent tried Nubar yet but I'm anxious to, especially these polka dots.
ReplyDeleteThe Polka Dots are great Frosso, very versatile and I have been pleased with all the Nubars I have tried to date xx
ReplyDeleteThey must have changed the formula on the Polka Dots because I would need at least 3 coats to get that many hexes. I have the black and the white. I usually get 1-4 hexes per nail!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Erin, my polka dots to seem pretty concentrated but I normally roll the bottle a little before use to try and help them along xx
DeleteI love these and use them a lot - right now my black on is missing in my stash - know it's there - going to go looking as it's great for fall/winter esp. I like mixing the 2 like you did over the gray. I also like to use the white in jelly sands. The white is not as iridescent as is OPI's Pirouette My Whistle.
ReplyDeleteI love these polishes too, very versatile, and I hope your black dots turn up xx
