Sally Hansen Navy Baby and Calypso Blue

I have for you today 2 polishes I picked up in Boots a few weeks ago, they are from the Sally Hansen line of 'Complete Salon Manicure' polishes.  These polishes are described as a complete manicure as they are '5 Products in 1 Bottle'  They advertise as not needing a Base Coat or Top Coat as they contain both of these alongside Growth Treatment, Hardener and Colour.

I only got the two of these as had never tried them before and even though I seen a few other colours I liked I thought I would get 2 to try first.

As always I went straight for the blues, a light and a dark one.  I love both of the colours on the nail but had a bit of a problem with application due to the brush.  It was rather wide and did not have a straight edge at the tip so this caused me a few issues when applying.  This seems to be the design of the brush as the website describes it as an 'exclusive double brush to cover the entire nail surface in 1 even stroke'

Even though the product does not require it, I never really go without a base coat so I still just done my nails the usual way.

Here is the first one I got, Navy Baby.  I absolutely love this polish as it is a very dark navy blue with a blue glowing shimmer running through it.  This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Navy Baby and 1 of the Shield.

Next I have for you Calypso Blue, which is a lighter blue colour with a shimmer running through it too.  I apologise in advance for the funky colour of my hands in these pictures, no matter how many different ways I tried to take the photo, these were the only ones that showed the actual colour of the polish, but made the colour of my hands funny.

Anyway, this is 1 coat of the Knight, 3 of Calypso Blue, and 1 of the Shield.

I would probably pick up some more of these polishes if the colour was great but the brush does put me off a little bit.  It may be fine for others, but it just wasn't really working for me, which I hate saying as I don't really like being negative about a brand but I also feel I should be honest with you guys.

Thanks for looking <3

  1. These are both absolutely stunning polishes! I know what you mean about the brush though, I feel like I can't get thin, even coats with it and it just makes it hard to get a nice manicure with it. I feel like these polishes would be perfect if they just had normal brushes. Sally Hansen is one of my favorite brands though, so I have a few of the ones that I really like. Anyways, blue is definitely your color as these both look fantastic on you =)

  5. Thanks Jackie, these were the first Sally Hansen polishes I have had in a long time, used to use their Chrome ones way back when, but don't remember issues then, must just be the Salon style bottles. I did love both of the colours though <3 xx

    Thanks MariJo xx

And thank you too Fingers, I don't have any China Glaze, had a few before and they didn't stay on me very well, it is strange how the same names get used sometimes xx

And thanks too Esther, I had seen them in my Boots a few times but never really lingered but decided to eventually and some of them looked so much nicer close up than from far away xx
