ILNP Blue Steel and Exodus

I have today to show you not just one, but two pretty blue polishes, both come from the ILNP brand.

Blue Steel is the first polish I am showing you and it is a lovely little light blue holo - and even if it wasn't so pretty, I just love the Zoolander referenced name.  This polish applies like a dream and blinds a little in the sunlight, just like a good holo should, ha.  Unfortunately, I did not get any proper sunshine to show you so you will just have to do with artificial sun-light.

This is one coat of the Knight and 2 of the polish.

I then added a little stripe down the middle with ILNP Exodus which is a dark blue polish with a blue shimmer running throughout.  I am not too tidy with my freehanding so I used my trusty Andrea Fullerton Dot and Flick in black to block the line off.    This is 2 swipes of Exodus and then one of the Shield to top it all off.

I was quite happy with how this turned out and I hope you like it too.  Unfortunately I bought both of these polishes a good which back in some kind of retirement sale if I remember correctly, so I don't think they are available and longer, but many more are on the official site, including something very magical sounding - and looking - called a holographic ultra chrome flakie!!  ;)

Thanks for looking and hopefully be back again soon <3

Colors by Llarowe Blue Jeans and Beauty Queens & Alternate Universe (aka my Zelda Nails...)

I have a little post for you today showing off two of the Summer CbL polishes, which when I started doing them I thought it was just random doodles, but when looking at them again I realised my playing of Zelda on my DS seems to have rubbed off on my subconscious....

I started off with a base of 1 coat of the Knight then 3 coats of CbL Blue Jeans and Beauty Queens, this is one of the jellish polishes from the collection but builds up really nicely with a few coats.

I then decided to do some 'random' dotting with CbL Alternate Universe and then drew round them with my Andrea Fulerton Dot and Flick tool in black.

Only when looking at them this way, I realised I had been drawing dots that sort of looked like the islands from my Zelda DS map....

Okay they are not exact or anything, but really reminded me of them, oh well, guess that shows what I have been doing with some of my spare time, ha.

As always, Colors by Llarowe polishes can be purchased from the official site, Harlow and Co and Rainbow Connection.

Thanks for looking <3

Colour by Llarowe Summer 2014 - Read My Lips, More New Colors, Frenzy and Liquor is Quicker

Today I have 3 of the crelly polishes to show you from the CbL Summer collection.  I was initially going to show you these just as normal swatches but when I was painting my nails last night I felt like doing something different.

As I said above, these polishes are described as crellys which means they are somewhere between a creme and a jelly polish.  The colours I am showing are:

- Read My Lips, More New Colors which is a neon orange polish.  Now this one is so bright in real life but seems a little less so in my pictures.
- Frenzy which is a neon pink polish (with purple undertones)
- and Liquor is Quicker which is a bluey purple (or blurple) polish.

I started with a based of 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Nails Inc Floral Street (which is a stark white) and then first painted a chunk of the nail with Read My Lips, then the chunk next to it with Frenzy and lastly the chunk at the top with Liquor.  As I do not have the steadiest hand, my colours sometimes overlapped so to tidy it up - and also to act as a great contrast with the brightness of the bases - I drew lines to separate the colours with the Sally Hansen Black Dot and Flick tool and then a coat of the Shield to seal it all in.

Now as I said it is so much brighter when you actually see the polish but you get the idea from the pictures.  These colours will be amazing for Summer - if it actually ever comes to stay here.

Keep an eye on the Llarowe facebook, the CbL facebook and the Llarowe site for news about the next re-stock of the Summer polishes as this is the best way to hear these being announced.  CbL polishes can also be purchased from the Harlow & Co site and again check facebook to find out when you can pick these up.

Thanks so much for looking  <3

Nails Inc Bermondsey - Denim and Andrea Fulerton Dot and Flick White

I have for you all today another of the Nails Inc Textured polishes, this time I have Bermondsey which is a Denim effect.

Again I loved this one, it was pretty easy to apply but as with the other texture polishes you have to wait a little between coats to avoid messing the polish up.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and no top coat.

I had also recently received the new Andrea Fulerton Dot and Flick pen in White.  I loved the black version so was excited to try the White one too.

I decided to try and create a stitching effect on top of the demin polish, the Dot and Flick pen was great and easy to use, and also very pigminted as covered over the blue polish easily.

So here is my attempt at nail art using the pen, still no top coat as wanted to keep the denim effect base.

Andrea Fulerton Sharon

Today I have for you another of the Andrea Fulerton polishes, Sharon.  Which is a light grey with a subtle shimmer.

Application was great but I found I needed 3 coats to get the coverage I like.

So here is 1 coat of the Knight, 3 of Sharon and 1 of the Shield.

Andrea Fulerton polishes can be purchased from Superdrug or Amazon.

Polish Days Geometry Nails (feat Nails Inc and Andrea Fulerton)

Today I am taking part in the wonderful Polish Days event organised by the lovely Hannah of Polly Polish.

I didn't take part in the first Polish Day as I didn't have the Floam required, and I completely forgot to sign up for the Olympics one *edit: there was also a Jelly Sandwich Day I didn't do*, but after much reminding, I finally signed up for this round.

Now the theme is Geometry, and I would have loved to have done something more M C Escher inspired as I am a great fan, but do not have the talent unfortunately, so that left me with a basic colour blocked mani.

First I started with 1 coat of the Knight, then 2 of Nails Inc Floral Street.
Then I painted 1 coat of Nails Inc London Sky in a diagonal across the nail.
Then 2 coats of Nails Inc The Thames in a diagonal going the other way.
I then went over all the joining lines with Andrea Fulerton Dot and Flick tool in Judy.
And 1 coat of the Shield to finish it all off.

I was actually really impressed and really liked the finished result and I hope you all do too.

If you want to sign up for future Polish Days you can do so here.

Thanks for looking and see below for details of the other participants and their manis <3 xx

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 3 of Mischa and 1 of the Shield.

Andrea Fulerton Emma with Sparkle Shine Overcoat

Today I have for you another of the Andrea Fulerton Popping Pastels colours, which this time is a very pretty lilac polish.

Again as with Jade there was no application issues and the polish is shown here with 1 coat of the Knight 2 of Emma and no top coat.

And again here is Emma with 2 coats of the Sparkle Shine Ovecoat and 1 coat of the Shield.  The Overcoat shimmer is still pretty subtle but I love the little extra something it brings to the polish.

I really love this shade of purple, and I do think the Overcoat is a quick and easy way to liven up a pretty pastel spring manicure.

Andrea Fulerton polishes can be bought from Superdrug or Amazon are cost £4.99 for the polish and the same for the Overcoat.

Andrea Fulerton Jade with Sparkle Shine Overcoat

I have for you all today a pretty polish from the Andrea Fulerton Spring Pastels Collection, a mint green called Jade.

Like the other Andrea Fulerton polishes I have tried so far, application was easy and smooth.  And coverage was opaque in 2 coats.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Jade and no top coat.

I then added Andrea Fulertons Sparkle Shine Overcoat which is a clear top coat polish with micro glitter running through it, which gives a subtle but stunning shimmer to any polish, and I thought it worked perfectly with this pastel type colour.

The Overcoat was pretty smooth after drying so there might not be a need for an additional top coat if you don't want to wear one, but after putting 2 coats of the Sparkle Shine Overcoat on top of the above mani, I then added 1 coat of the Shield to seal it all in.

I love this kind of shade, I think it is perfect for Spring and the micro glitter is the Overcoat is a great addition as it adds a little something else to the plain creme polish, but doesn't take away from the actual colour.

Andrea Fulerton polishes can be bought from Superdrug or Amazon are cost £4.99 for the polish and the same for the Overcoat.

Andrea Fulerton Annie

This is the last Andrea Fulerton polish I have to show you from the Metallic Magic Autumn Winter collection, well for now anyway.

This polish is called Annie and is a pure icy silver polish with silver micro glitter through it.  It also had great coverage with 2 coats and application was easy and smooth.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and 1 of the Shield.

Continuing the theme of this collection I wanted to try some nail art, and this idea seemed simple and made use of the 'dot' part of the 'dot and flick' tool in the shade Judy. The dot part of this tool was very easy to use and allowed the spots to remain about the same size each time as the polish flowed quite well through the tool.

I hope you have had a much fun looking at my art with this collection as I had trying them out for you.  Again the polish is £4.99 and the 'dot and flick' tool is £3.99
