Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Lily

Today I have for you the last of the Gossip Girl collaborations from Nails Inc, Lily. See here for the Blair set and here for Serena. I am quite sad actually that there are only the 3 of these as would love some more of the Overglazes as these 3 have been stunning.

Here is a picture of the Lily set.

Lily is a very dark black/plum base, coverage was great with 1 coat, and could have possibly just been left at that but here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 coats of Lily and no top coat.

And now for the Overglaze, which is called High Society in this set.  It is described as a red/green overglaze on the Nails Inc website but to be honest I did not see much red in this, mostly green (a couple of different shades) and gold, and a very slight hit of blue sometimes at the sides but no red.  That does not, however, change how much I like this polish, as the fact there isn't red makes me like it more (more info coming up on this soon).

For now here is the above mani with 1 coat of Overglaze and 1 coat of the Shield.

I love this collection too and still cannot decide which is my favourite so I am so glad I have all 3.

Now back to why the lack of red is a good thing, I am sure when many people (me included) seen the description for this Overglaze, it sounded an awful lot like Nubar 2010, which I have shown you before here and matte here, I was so happy that when I actually tried them together they are not that similar at all.

High Society has a lot more of the green/gold flakies where as 2010 does show green but the main colours are red and orange.  I would also say the flakes in the Nails Inc polish are larger than the Nubar.  Here is a quick comparison picture for you to see, this is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Lily and 1 coat of High Society on pointer and ring fingers and 1 coat of 2010 on middle and pinkie fingers, with 1 coat of the Shield over all.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have liked these collections.

The Nails Inc product was sent to me for review, the Nubar was purchased by me.

Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Serena

Today I have for you all another of the Nails Inc Gossip Girl Collaborations, this time it is Serena, I previously showed you Blair and will have Lily coming up shortly too.

Here is a picture of the lovely box Serena comes in.

Now, the base polish that comes in this set is a pure patent black, called Serena.  Now I got rid of almost all of my other blacks when I got Camelot but this one will be a keeper as application was great and the polish very pigmented.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and no top coat.

The shine of this polish without top coat is unreal, and 'patent' is the best way to describe this colour as it does remind me of patent shoes.  Again there is an Overglaze top coat in this set, this time it is an electric blue flakie called It Girl.

Here is the above mani with 1 coat of Overglaze and 1 coat of the Shield.

Again, I really love this top coat, and cannot decide whether I like this one or Blair more, the electric blue against the black is so striking, and I can't wait to see what it look like over other colours.

The set can be bought from the Nails Inc website for £20 or £18 if you are a Reward Scheme Member, here is a link to the Serena Set for you..... Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Serena.

Thank you for looking <3

Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Blair

Nails Inc have recently released 3 sets of polishes in collaboration with Gossip Girl.

I have for you today Blair from this collection.  The others are Lily and Serena.  I was so happy to get Blair as I must admit I do watch Gossip Girl (hey a girl is allowed some guilty pleasures :p) and Blair is my favourite, not just in the programme but I do really like Leighton Meester who plays her.  Anyway, I digress, back to polish......

This collection has 2 polishes in it, as do the other sets, I don't think I have ever shown a picture of packaging, but since this set came in a special box I thought I would now.

Firstly I will show you the coloured polish alone, which is blackened teal called Blair.  I love almost black colours so this was a welcome addition to my collection.

This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish (although it is very pigmented so 1 would have sufficed) and no top coat.

Blair is a beautiful creme polish but is by no means the star of this collection, the Overglaze top coat, which in this set is a blue green one called Privileged, is simply amazing.  The effect is not unique, it is flakes of duochrome glitter (think Nubar 2010) but I love the different colours in this one.

This is the above mani with 1 coat of Overglaze and 1 of the Shield.

Ok, in case all the pictures didn't say it for me, I am absolutely in love with this top coat, I am already thinking about what polish to try it over next and I cannot wait to get the other 2 sets of these polishes.  I have already added them to my December present list already (I refuse to admit how close to Christmas we actually are so am trying not to use the word)

These sets can be bought for £20 (or £18 if you are a Reward Scheme Member) directly from the Nails Inc Website.  Here is a link to the Blair Collection... Nails Inc Gossip Girl - Blair
