I have for you today Blair from this collection. The others are Lily and Serena. I was so happy to get Blair as I must admit I do watch Gossip Girl (hey a girl is allowed some guilty pleasures :p) and Blair is my favourite, not just in the programme but I do really like Leighton Meester who plays her. Anyway, I digress, back to polish......
This collection has 2 polishes in it, as do the other sets, I don't think I have ever shown a picture of packaging, but since this set came in a special box I thought I would now.
Firstly I will show you the coloured polish alone, which is blackened teal called Blair. I love almost black colours so this was a welcome addition to my collection.
This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish (although it is very pigmented so 1 would have sufficed) and no top coat.
Blair is a beautiful creme polish but is by no means the star of this collection, the Overglaze top coat, which in this set is a blue green one called Privileged, is simply amazing. The effect is not unique, it is flakes of duochrome glitter (think Nubar 2010) but I love the different colours in this one.
This is the above mani with 1 coat of Overglaze and 1 of the Shield.
Ok, in case all the pictures didn't say it for me, I am absolutely in love with this top coat, I am already thinking about what polish to try it over next and I cannot wait to get the other 2 sets of these polishes. I have already added them to my December present list already (I refuse to admit how close to Christmas we actually are so am trying not to use the word)

ReplyDeleteI love Gossip Girl, and Blair and Chuck are my favourites :D :D I got this set off QVC and it's gorgeous, isn't it? I'm considering buying Serena (the one QVC didn't have) but from the pictures NI released the overglaze looks to just be one colour and I think I'd probably end up wearing it less than the others...

ReplyDeleteWhew at least is isn't just me then Marie :p Do you have the one from the Lily set then? I can't remember if you have Nubar 2010, but if you do, how similar are they? And you are right, I think Serena is just the one colour but I love bright blues so might have to get it anyway....

I prefer the Blair collection if I'm honest. I do not have Nubar 2010 (I keep thinking I should invest) and I haven't tried the overglaze from the Lily set over anything other than the Chelsea and Kensington polishes from the sets.. Over Chelsea it shifted through teal green, emerald green, yellow green and yellow (I have some terrible pictures which look to contain some reddish and orange colours, but I don't remember noticing those in RL)

I have a £5 birthday voucher that might be used on the Serena collection ;) I think I'll see what is on QVC on Monday and get it if there isn't something on there which catches my eye. I'll not be getting the TSV though!!

The price that people have been mentioning looks good, but if I buy any I think it'll be the blue one from Boots :) They're readded the All That Glitters collection from last year to QVC, but I guess they'll have other actual new stuff.. but maybe not.. they seem to have had a lot of new things on QVC recently, or maybe it's always like this?

ReplyDeleteThank you To {Polish} or Not, I don't have Serena but from the description I have seen it looks like Serena is a black polish with a blue overglaze top coat whereas Blair is a Black/Teal polish with a blue/green overglaze. Hope this helps xx
