a-england And The Moonbeams

Wow, 2013, Happy New Year everyone!!

For my first post of the year I thought I would show you another of the a-england Heavenly Quotes collection.

This one is called And The Moonbeams and is a shimmery golden polish, it can be worn alone or layered, and I have worn this over a few different colours and loved each combination.

As with each and every a-england polish I have tried to date this one is more complex that you think at first glance and application is easy and almost effortless.

This one was my favourite though, so here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Avalon, 1 of Moonbeams and 1 of the Shield.

Crowstoes Morticia over a-england Avalon

I have for you all today the first of a brand I have been dying to own for a while, I was so glad when Leah Ann of Llarowe started selling these beauties as before they were not available in the UK as far as I am aware.

The main polishes I wanted from this brand were the ones inspired by Alice in Wonderland, which I will hopefully soon have all of them, but the one I have chosen for you today is inspired by Morticia from the Addams Family.

I loved this one just for the name alone but then when I seen her in real life, wow!  I didn't want to layer her over just black or red as didn't want any of the glitters to get lost, so I decided on purple, so that the red, silver/grey and black glitters in Morticia all showed up.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of a-england Avalon, 1 of Morticia, 1 of Glitter Food and 1 of the Shield.

Crowstoes Polishes can be purchased from Llarowe, and the Halloween Collection is there just now too.

Lynnderella Shape Shifter over a-england Avalon

Today I have for you my last Lynnderella from the parcel I got from Llarowe, it is a sad day but hopefully it will not be the last Lynnderella post forever.

As far as I can tell from the Lynnderella site, Shape Shifter is from the First Edition collection and is described here:

Multiple sizes of silver holographic hexagons and squares, micro glitter, plus hearts, stars, diamonds, crescent moons, flowers, butterflies and bars in a clear base. Challenging application due to shifting shapes.

This is a very striking polish due to the amount of holo in it, but was also a bit tricky to apply due to some of the larger glitter pieces.  Some slight repositioning was required for the much larger bits, I only managed to get a Heart and a Moon from the Shapes in this mani but when I previously wore this I also got a Diamond, a Star and a Flower (as well as a Heart and Moon).  I love that each time you wear this polish it will be different.

I decided to layer it over a-england Avalon, so here is 1 coat of the Knight, 1 of Avalon, 2 of Shape Shifter and 1 of the Shield.

Before I go, here is a quick picture I managed to find from the first time I wore this polish that shows some of the other shapes.  Its not a great picture but for some reason it seems to be the only one on my computer of this mani, not sure what happened there.  If I remember rightly this was 1 coat of the Knight, 3 coats of Ozotic 506, 2 of Shape Shifter and no top coat

The Complete a-england Mythicals Collection

Wow, 100 followers on GFC, I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who looks at and takes an interest in my blog.  I know there are so many amazing ones out there so I appreciate each person that stops here.  My thanks are obviously for you all - GFC followers, Facebook likers, Twitter and Bloglovin followers, email subscribers and even just the passers by.

I have had this post planned for a while but wanted to wait until GFC got to 100 to publish it, as anyone who comes to visit Pandora's Nails will know, I love a-england polishes and have shown each of the Mythicals in at least one post already, but I thought for ease of reference it would be good to have them all in the one place..............I also really enjoyed trying them all on at the one time and creating all the different combos.

I will show you today all of the Mythicals alone first (2 coats), then with 1 coat of Morgan Le Fay and again with 1 coat of Merlin.  The Knight was used as a base coat on all polishes, but I decided not to use top coat of any of them to show you just how sparkly they are alone, so the bottle I am holding is the Shield so it wasn't completely left out.

Incase any of you are wondering, I chose the order of the swatches based on the order of the polishes on the a-england website, which is how they are stored in my case too.  I will also link to each polishes individual post using their name incase anyone wants to look further.

First we have King Arthur, Excalibur, Iseult, and Guinevere.

Then with Morgan Le Fay.

Then with Merlin.

With Morgan Le Fay.

With Merlin.

And then we have Camelot, Avalon, Perceval, Galahad and Holy Grail.

With Morgan Le Fay.

With Merlin.

Thank you all for looking once again <3 xxx

a-england Avalon layered with Nails Inc Franklins Row

I have had Nails Inc Franklins Row for a while, I got it as part of the Paparazzi Collection on QVC.  I have only worn it once and did like it but thought the duochrome was stronger in the bottle than on the nail.  I could always see more of the blue and only hints of the purple, mostly due to the flecks through it, and it just wasn't as strong as I would have liked.

I decided to try layering to see if I could bring out more of the purple as I haven't actually tried this before with these kinds of colours and I was happy with the result to be honest.

My first 'go to' of purple polishes was a-england Avalon (which I have previously shown here), if any polish needed more purple, this would be the one to give it.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 1 of Avalon, 1 of Franklins Row and 1 of the Shield.

The above pictures were all taken under my usual spotlight but there was a quick burst of sun just as I got home from work so I managed to snap a few hand shots which show the colour difference better.

I don't say this very often but I would suggest clicking on the pictures to get more detail to see the colour better.

I hope you enjoyed my first layering attempt and I will probably have another try shortly and any comments are welcome xx

a-england Avalon

Ok, I know what you are probably thinking, another a-england colour but I seriously cannot get enough of these polishes.

Avalon is one of the colours that has been on quite a few of the other blogs but I enjoy wearing it so much I thought I would try and pay my own little tribute to it.

This was probably one of the hardest polishes for me (so far) to capture its true colour on camera, I think I took close to a million (ok probably more like 150) pictures of it and hopefully the few I have picked show Avalon at its best.

This colour is the most true purple colour I own, but also has slight flecks of other colours through it (pink, purple and possibly blue) but this may very well be a trick of the light but regardless of this Avalon glows when you wear it.

Again as always 1 coat of Nails Inc Underground base coat (but finally ordered the Knight yesterday) 2 coats of Avalon and 1 coat of a-englands The Shield.

Polishes can be purchased for £9 from a-englands website, and international shipping is offered.  a-england avalon

Oh and before I go, I have a bit more info on the new (still no name announced) collection, there will be Seven polishes, six of them holos (two greens, which I had mentioned before) and a black (!!!) and a 'vibrant multichrome' will complete the set.  It will be at least 3 months before we can get our hands on 'The Seven' and at the moment the lucky Adina has one sample of each of these but otherwise they are off at the manufactures so there are no promo pics yet either.  I am sure we will get a glimpse of these once Adina has them on the a-england Facebook Page where the competition to win polishes from The Mythicals collection is still ongoing.........
